Walls of Freedom Outreach is a very busy outreach concept church in the core area of Winnipeg's inner city. Our programs focus on restoration of the entire family, many of whom are living a life of dismay. People attending our programs include kids, youth, and youth at risk, abused women, people suffering from addictions, and parents looking for hope. We offer non-traditional Sunday services that appeal to the community we minister to. We serve meals, play games, do crafts, spend time talking to, listening to and praying with those who attend, and of course minister the Word of God at all of the functions. We also offer support to people in need, and emergency resources on a limited basis. We are out in the community visiting homes regularly, visiting the families who attend. We also offer prison and hospital visitation, and assist those who have been in prison with re-establishing themselves in the community. We moved into our building at 294 Ellen St. In October of 2012. We have had many encounters that could have come from God alone. We see needs filled and lives changed on a regular basis, even though it is not as often as our human hearts would sometimes like
We presently reach out to over 1000 families. Over 1600 families, some of whom have moved away, have been involved with our regular programs. Many others have been touched by a Christmas party, an outreach carnival, community barbecue in a park, or other outreach event.
Walls of Freedom is actively living out Isaiah 58. Results are positive. People in all of Canada's inner cities are seeking hope, and deserve to have the opportunity to escape the social turmoil. We believe that introducing them to Jesus, and the power and mercy of God, in addition to the smile and bowl of soup, will transform their lives.
